Well, reading THIS article gave me more insight to the introduction of such a product - due to economic conditions but the last line of the article about enjoying such products made me smile...
Yalumba's Spatlese Fruity White - Vintage 2007 was lovely, light and fruity! We enjoyed the whole 2 litre of it! If the bunch of us were to be ostracised for that, so be it! Hahaha....

Hahaha, recently a 2-litre cask of red wine appeared back at home during CNY and a similar discussion came up as we were swigging it - why do perfectly drinkable wines get such a bad reputation just because it packaged in paper instead of glass?
the only 2litre kind of cask, in my case it was close to 5 litres..were the 1s that were on sale for less than AUD 10..
remember all getting drunk on it and forever n ever, we have nvr dared venture to any wine serve that style
