Two Faded Stars

It's sad when I look at this video clip of Michael Jackson and Britney Spears. This was back in 2001 at Madison Square Garden, New York City. This was in celebration of Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary (as a solo performer; his first single was "Got To Be There" in 1971).

Britney Spears was already quite a star then in that year, releasing her third album "Britney" in 2001 too. As fast as she rose to fame, things also went downhill as fast when she married Kevin Federline.

We all know what happened next and now she is back in the news though it's mostly bad; her dismal comeback performance at the latest Video Music Award and losing custody of her kids. As for Michael Jackson; he was that child that grew up too fast. None of us will really know how they feel or what they go through but I do know that stardom might not necessarily be a good thing. It's definitely harder when one is in the public eye 24/7.

So, here for now...enjoy this video, The Way You Make Me Feel - when Britney & Michael were happier and when the world was indeed a better place.

Ya it is indeed sad to remember the way they use to be. I like your "broken hearted" song too.

without sounding cynical or what , it does seem like if they had not gotten married , these might not have happened ! interesting thought ,of what might have been !
You can also check other like-love stories if you have the time...

Though some of her songs I have to admit are nice, I never like the person herself.

firehorse : How and where did they go wrong...sigh. Broken hearted Me such a sad song hor?

team bsg : Yes, think you meant Britney...Urrr...what other love stories???

ilene : Good old days are from the past. Hopefully, our present will be old old days too.

tankiasu : Yeah, I like some of her songs but not towards the person.

nkotb : Yes, consequences of the bad decisions made in life.

jason : Well, let's see what lies ahead for her...

teckiee : Well, maybe she thought it would change things for the better. But I guess it didn't work out. Sometimes people make the wrong choices and will have to live with the consequences.

To think I was a fan of Michael Jackson and so were my kids and my daughter was a fan of Britney Spears.

It seems her comeback may yet be successful despite the VMA fiasco. It seems her latest single is the most downloaded tune in iTunes and #1 in some music chart. I think it would do her some good for something positive to happen to her right now. There have been so many problems professionally and personally, at least if her career is on the rise again, she might be able to pull her life together.

judy : Those were the days...let's hope things can only get better from here.

kat : Yes, it seems so...her video for her latest single has been having mixed reactions though. They are not impressed with her pole dancing bit! :o)

Yes.. very sad indeed..! reminds me that we can go down too if we are not careful of our actions.

mama bok : But I guess it's easier on us as we aren't in the public eye like the celebrities are.
