The Awesomeness of HTC One X ! At the launch of HTC One Series, Pavilion

I was at the official launch of HTC One series yesterday at Pavilion and it made me sad, looking at my current HTC Sensation. Hahaha....

HTC One Launch @ Pavilion

I have always love HTC and it was naturally my one and only choice when I bought my first smartphone last year.  However, after looking at the HTC One X (RRP RM2099), my 9 month old HTC Sensation looks almost like an antique (and it left the other competing brands in the dust too, in MY opinion).  HTC One V was also showcased, being the smaller and less impressive of the two but still a good value at a RRP of RM999.

HTC One Launch @ Pavilion

The HTC Pavilion Roadshow is currently on till 8 April, 2012 and is having a special purchase with purchase promotion on HTC Media link HD accessory, beatssolo and urbeats headphones during this period.  They are also giving out mystery gift to random visitors who are lucky recipients of a redemption card (while stocks last), so do drop by the Roadshow at Pavilion Concourse area.

I absolutely love the HTC One X (sorry, V, I neglected you!) and its pumped up features and would have gotten one had it not been that my HTC Sensation was less than a year old and I have committed myself to a one year affair with it.  Hahaha...

So, what do I love about the HTC One X? Here's my HTC One X review ...
  • Its scratch and stain resistant polycarbonate unibody @ 8.9mm thick (of course, using a permanent marker on it would make a permanent stain, duh!)

HTC One X
  • Its 4.7 inch contoured Gorilla Glass display with a 720p HD resolution and optical lamination. This means a wider viewing angle and reduced reflection, hence better visibility in the day time. I really love the display...I had thought it was a dummy set but this is it...it was a real set and the clarity of the display was stunning. It looks just about the right size in the hands of Ethan.
  • Performance wise, it's FAST, powered by a quad core 1.5 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. This makes it more power-efficient and gives the HTC One X a much welcome improved battery life.
  • Its camera performance.  As you know, I use my HTC Sensation's camera to take quite a lot of photos, replacing my DSLR at times.  So, this is something I will ramble on for awhile. Now, with HTC One X new camera specifications, I'm so impressed with the enhancements and improvements that they have added to this feature.  The 8.0 megapixel camera comes with a f2.0 lens and this means a vast improvement for photos taken in low light conditions.  This is by far the largest phone camera aperture in the market today.  It also has ImageSense and shots taken even in minimal or no light condition to say will not have you looking like a deer caught in the headlights as the SMART LED flash automatically adjusts to match the different light conditions.  HTC One X is also the only phone currently that can also capture still and/or continuous HD photos (competitor's are of lower resolution and of a single frame) while recording the video at the same time (or during video playback itself).  A long press of the shutter will launch the phone camera into a continuous shoot mode (up to 99 continuous shots at 4 frames per second!).
  • Its audio.  Integrating Beats Audio Technology, it gives a dynamic performance in this aspect.
  • Its streaming capabilities.  With additional accessories and an upward swipe of your three fingers across the phone's screen, your media file is "magically" sent to your TV (any TV with an HDMI input).  One can watch video on the TV while checking their emails or having a conversation on the phone as  the HTC Media Link HD accessory allows the TV to function like an extended desktop or simply as a mirror site, thus enabling you to work or play on a larger screen.
What I wished the HTC One X didn't have:
  • Built in battery
Err...really, that's the only one thing I gripe about! hahaha.... Again, this write up on HTC One X is based solely on my opinion.  You are of course, allowed to have your own :o)
Here are the specifications of HTC One X and HTC One V.  Read them and drool .... Hahaha...

What? RM 2099 for a phone? Total madnes! My new one (still a flip phone) is only $0.99 + 9.00 sales tax = $9.99. Of course it is no smart phone but hey ... I can make and receive calls and text .. These are my basic needs :). - mrs. Pitt
