Cendol is big business here! Occupying a corner shoplot, business runs at a fast and furious pace...especially on a hot day!
The group of us ordered a few different varieties of cendol and of course...rojak too! Our orders were sent to our table at a rather fast and furious pace too though the place was packed.
Good old conventional plain cendol @ RM1.30 a bowl (USD 0.40) which came out rather...err...plain when compared with ...
Cendol Kacang and Jagung (Red Bean and Corn) goes for RM1.70 (USD 0.50). My favourite order whenever I have cendol. There is simply more to munch and enjoy when compared to a plain cendol
Cendol Bandung @ RM1.50 (USD 0.45) was a first for me. It was okay, but I think I will stick to my Cendol Kacang order next time...and Sirap Bandung. It was sorta a weird concoction to me.
Rojak @ RM3.50 (USD1.15) was just agverage to me. I found the one in Port Dickson to be better. Maybe it's just my tastebud but Haji Shariff's Rojak sauce was a bit bland for me. The rojak sauce is the most important element in "making or breaking" a dish like rojak!
So, when it's one of those hot days and you find yourself in this area, head on down to Haji Shariff for a cool break...cos it seems that everyone in Seremban does just that! There's an even better stop for cendol actually (not in Seremban), the best I've tasted so far ... stay tuned to find out where!
