A Celebration For Two By Two

Precious Pea and Boo_licious decided to celebrate the birthday of Jason and mine. It must have been sweeter especially for Jason as this is probably his first time celebrating it in Kuala Lumpur instead of Ipoh (or maybe he was sad that he's not in Ipoh???). Anyway, Precious Pea was most gracious (Gracious Precious Pea???) and gave Boo_licious and I a ride downtown, Jalan Alor.

It's only Jason's second visit to Wong Ah Wah and we decided to forgo the rice here and just order a few dishes as we had other stops in mind. Hehehe....Of course we ordered the famous chicken wings which seems to be the norm whenever we eat here. On this visit though, the chicken wing was the only dish I enjoyed as the other dishes didn't quite measure up. We ordered the Kam Heong Lala (shellfish) again but this time round, it wasn't as tasty compared to our previous visit here.
Grilled Sotong
Also on the table : Grilled sotong (cuttlefish), it was a tad salty. The version at the nearby Meng Kee's is definitely better and tastier.
Grilled Stingray
The Grilled Stingray was quite good, grilled nicely and juicy. The only thing was that the chilli dip that came with this dish was a letdown. So it fell short on delivery too.
Birthday Boy
Birthday boy, Jason, enjoying his chicken wing!

We then headed off to Restoran Muar for the crowd's favourite, deep fried egg and butter kailan (which Jason says that it tasted like kacang putih - peanuts..., I must ask him which variety as it would probably be cheaper eating such peanuts in the long run! hee hee..). Read my previous post on these dishes and for more photos, read Precious Pea's post on this celebration HERE.

Wanting to end the night with dessert (the cendol at Restoran Muar didn't count!), we headed off to nearby Max! Kitchen and Wines to see what was on the menu. Max himself was most helpful in suggesting and we ended up ordering a scoop of Latte Ice Cream each and a Chocolate Souffle (which we have tried before) to share.
Chocolate Souffle with Latte Ice Cream
It was a lovely sight (complete with a trick candle where the flame would just not die out!!!) and of course, the mandatory birthday song was sung for Jason and me; amidst me telling the two of them to sing it softer which they did. Hahaha...
Latte Ice Cream
I enjoyed the Latte Ice Cream as it wasn't sweet but yet tasted true to its Latte name.

Thank you, Precious Pea and Boo_licious for celebrating both Jason's and my birthday. It was a wonderful night and I truly enjoyed myself. I'm touched, this year is extra special as I have an additional group of friends to celebrate with; FLOGGERS! Thank you once again to you all for your lovely birthday wishes too. Thanks to my friends and family too...Here's to a great life, for me and you all!
