Well, I've been to this place a few times ... and I do love this place for it is cozy and peaceful dining here. Little has been blogged about Jessica Johnson and I wonder if it's because us regulars actually want to keep Jessica Johnson away from others; our little secret of our hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city or for other reasons that I do not know off. But I think it's only right that I pass this along ...
It's easy to walk pass this place and not notice it. The small shoplot that's sandwiched by mostly auto repair shops, it's located a few shops away from Pos Malaysia. There's an easel displaying some rather small pics of food along with some handwritten description just outside its swing glass door that is plastered with window stickers. Go through the door and you'll see a small table on the left that is actually a tiny office space where one can buy general insurance and renew their road tax! To your right, you'll see a bakery section and further along in...about 5 tables (small and large) resembling a cosy English Tearoom with classical decor and surrounded by artificial silk flowers and rustic looking cabinets (which are for sale too!) I kid you not! See for yourself!
You'll see trays of bread, muffins on display here and there ...
Fresh bread just out from the oven, I love the smell in the air ...
Oh yes, I do come here to eat ... They do have set lunches to choose from. My friends usually have one of their curry sets; Nyonya, Garam Masala, Green Curry to name a few (all good stuff) . I love the soup that Jessica Johnson serves ... Hmmm...The Ratatouille in me thinks it's a blend of potato, carrot, celery, onions ...hehhehheh..
Chicken drumstick and potatoes served with yellow rice and salad. And since I much prefer chicken breast meat, I usually order this....(all the curry sets serves chicken drumstick)
Roast chicken with Yam...I love the roast chicken skin and its tender meat. The yam pieces are soft but not mushy :o)...
But of course, Jessica Johnson has tea sets too. Be it scones with lovely homemade marmalade ...
Or the equally lovely German Cheesecake ....
Jessica Johnson Tearoom puts a smile on your face :o)
Opened by Mark Chin who used to be from Passion Road, Mark named this place after a friend of his. Due to limited seating, best to call and book ahead for dining during peak hour before making your way here, just to be sure ;o)
