More About Me/Contact

You Get What You Give blog started out as a personal blog and soon morphed into what you get today ... F.A.T - Food, Arts & Travel. One should enjoy life best as they can, without the drama if possible :o). Spend my free time seeking delicious food in Malaysia (& in other countries), also finding some not so good ones in the process :p. Developed a love for photography from blogging and is still learning. Food.Arts.Travel (F.A.T), those are the love(s) of my life - in Malaysia and abroad.

I work my own hours and have the luxury of eating meals at non-peak hours most of the time. Hahaha...I like that as my friends would attest to the fact that I am a slow eater as I enjoy my meals unless it is not a tasty one.  This working arrangement has also enabled me to travel (not that often but for longer period than most people); some on my own and some under my company incentives and all purely for play and no work.  Write to me if you would like to find out more about my job and want time flexibility like mine (with great income thrown in!) :o)

I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ3 and Nikon D80 with the standard kit lens (18mm-135mm) for all the photographs you see in this blog.  I would recommend Panasonic Lumix point and shoot cameras for anyone who's interested in getting one.  I like the Nikon as I love vivid colours while Canon has a more natural colour I would say.  Recently, I have added another mode, pics from my Sony Ericsson W995 (first batch of pics from it are the coffee and crepe at Coffee Ritual - check it out HERE). As of July 2011, I have also been using my HTC Sensation to take food photos, and the shots turns out great like the ones HERE.  I bought an HTC One X in April 2012 and later switched to HTC One X+ and currently using a HTC One Max.  As you can read, I'm a HTC fan!  As for DSLR, I am currently using a Nikon D7000.  I have been approached by restaurants/vendors to take photos of food for their menu and have taken on such projects before.  Do contact me to find out my reasonable rates.  Just be informed that I only shoot under no frills natural lighting, no studio shots!
