Another place that I like to hang out at night when I'm in Klang is at Andalas Corner. Located within the Taman Rakyat, this cafeteria serves all sorts of food. From western to local; all sorts of noodles, satay, nasi lemak, chicken chop and so on. I like this place here as it is truly al-fresco dining, within the park and next to a man made lake. On breezy nights, it's so nice to be sitting and dining out in such an open area.
I usually order the Mango Slurpee for those warm nights as it's nicely blended and really keeps me cool with the current heatwave! As for food, I usually order the nasi lemak with sotong (cuttlefish) as I love the sotong here as it's really spicy (Oh, the black pepper chicken chop is not bad too). The rice is nice, cooked with just the right amount of coconut milk. They fry the egg with some margarine, so if you are not keen, do tell them to leave that out when you order. I prefer it sunny side up without margarine.
At Taman Sri Andalas area, Andalas Corner is located on Jalan Tun Ismail (further down after the fire station), it's a great place to wind down for the day. I just love the wide open space here; catching the breeze.

Had eaten at this place twice, thanks to KCC who directed me here. On my first visit during a Saturday 2 months ago, there was a long queue and I couldn't wait to see/taste what the hype was all about.
We finally shared a table with two other patrons after waiting for about 10 minutes. We then ordered one mix beef dry wantan noodles while KCC had the chicken hor fun (flat rice noodles). While waiting for our food to arrive, I struck up a conversation with the other two patrons who ordered beef and prawn noodles. Our orders came about the same time and when the prawn noodles arrived, they were nice enough to ask me to take a photo of it on finding out what I was doing taking photos of our orders :o).
I didn't taste the prawn noodles but I was absolutely taken in by the sight of the noodles and huge prawns that came with it. At RM6.80 a bowl, it was indeed very reasonable.
My order of mix beef noodles arrive and I was delighted by the the tender meat, soft tripe, springy beef balls and radish. The soup was so flavourful and good; was told that they boil the soup for long hours and I believe it after tasting the soup!
The dry wantan noodles came with a large dollop of minced beef and garnishing. However I found it a bit bland but that was easily corrected with some soy sauce.
On each table they also provide three types of chili; a mix of cut fresh red chillies and chili padi (bird's eye chili pepper), dry chili flakes and home made chili sauce.
KCC's order of chicken hor fun looked lovely too, topped with shredded chicken and prawns. I took a bite of the hor fun and a sip of the soup. Once again, the soup was so yummy and the hor fun was smooth. At RM4.80 and with such quality, it was really worth it!
We decided to order another small bowl of beef balls as we simply loved the springy texture of the it (plus we get more soup; not sure whether they do soup refills).
KCC being a prawn lover ordered a bowl of prawn wantan (so you can see, we had plenty of soup! Ha ha ha...) and ate to her heart's content!
Check out another article on Restoran 3U here. This is definitely another one of the places that I would want to patronise again and again when I'm in Cheras. It's a pity they are not open at night as the hours would be too long since they open as early at 7am! This is one restaurant that makes me wish I was staying in Cheras! LOL...I'm a soup person and this place serves great noodles in great soup stock! Yup...the secret is definitely in the soup ;o)

I sometimes imagine that you're still here with us and how I'll be going around with you on our usual food escapades! :o) I can just picture us, but instead of hopping onto a bus to go downtown, I'll be able to drive you around. You probably won't have the patience and will start eating your food before I can snap a pic of it though, ha ha ha...Oh, you missed out on your favourite and latest James Bond's adventure; Casino Royale was so good! (though you might not share my excitement, you know, the little squeals from me when Daniel Craig walked on the beach in his sexy trunks, showing off his sexy body). LOL! Oh, and you gave me a sign again while I was on the road earlier. There was this car in front of me with your initials...I haven't seen a car registration with your initials for quite a while now, till just now.
But I do know that you are glad to know and see that your kiddos are doing well in life. Living our lives well and happy, that would be how you want us to be and that is what we can be for you. It's hard at times, as I wish that you are here...I want to tell you how much I love you Dad and will always do. It was hard to let you go but in time, I understood that I had to as I truly love you and it was better for you to start your new life knowing that we were okay. All things happen for a reason...I knew that the day I let you go and that in return makes me happy as I know you've been smiling down at us ever since.

Back when I was a child Before life removed all the innocence My father would lift me high And dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around till I fell asleep Then up the stairs he would carry me And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance Another walk, another dance with him I’d play a song that would never, ever end How I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again
Ooh, ooh
When I and my mother would disagree To get my way I would run from her to him He’d make me laugh just to comfort me, yeah, yeah Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep He left a dollar under my sheet Never dreamed that he Would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance One final step, one final dance with him I’d play a song that would never, ever end ‘Cause I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door And I’d hear her, mama cryin’ for him I pray for her even more than me I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m prayin’ for much too much But could You send back the only man she loved I know You don’t do it usually But Lord, she’s dyin’ to dance with my father again Every night I fall asleep And this is all I ever dream
