Shanghai Brunch @ Shook! Starhill, Kuala Lumpur

Lip Smacking Photo Intensive Post!

Every Sunday from April 1st onwards, buffet diners have a new theme to feast on at Shook! Starhill Gallery.  Shanghai Brunch is another new buffet concept, giving a wonderful dining experience for all. While the theme and deco do emphasize on Chinese cuisine, there are other selection of Japanese, Italian, Thai plus other Asian signature dishes too.

Apart from the buffet spread, brunchers are given an ala carte menu where they can select one of the many different signature dishes available, be it from the Grill, Japanese, Chinese and Italian.  I opted for King Prawn Noodles while Jason had the grilled Salmon.

King Prawn Noodles
I absolutely enjoyed the King Prawn Noodles...a sizeable serving of 4 big halved king prawns on a bed of crispy noodles in delicious egg swirled gravy.  This is one of Shook!'s famous noodles.

The service crew dons cheongsams & samfus plus the open kitchen, adds fun to the festive ambiance.

There's also a selection of cocktails, mocktails, house pouring wine (Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir), chilled juices and soft drinks to choose from.  For those who would like to include champagne, Shook! is serving Laurent Perrier. All free flow if you go for the food and free flow option.  If you opt for just the food, you pay accordingly to the drinks that you order.

We ordered the Fire Ong (RM40++) cocktail which consists of Bailey's, Kahlua and Sambuca...Set aflame, it's certainly a fiery drink that lives up to its name. Great stuff!

The Dragon Sunrise (RM21++) mocktail consists of fruit juices from dragon fruit, pineapple, orange and Grenadine syrup.  This is nice and refreshing.

Of course, while you feast, the live band entertains with songs of yesteryear's.  There's also Chase, who performs street magic right before your eyes at your table.  He really stumped us with his illusions and made us say the inevitable "How did you do that????"...Hahaha... There's also a Mime who was not only silently amusing us with his antics but with his balloon art too.

With great selection of food and personalized service, it's Sunday brunch at its best!
