Friday Bites - Frozen Goodies Galore

I love going to the supermarkets and walking around the frozen food aisles especially. I am amaze with the different and wide variety of frozen food available in the supermarkets here. As food technology improves further, I'm sure the list will get longer. However of late, I no longer have the same excitement as I walk through those same aisles as I've been spoilt rotten by Mrs Pitt during my two months stay in USA. After being blessed with such great treats, it'll be hard to top these goodies found in USA (and sadly not available here and if it is, will probably cost you a finger or two...hahhaa...not an arm & leg extreme!)

So, apart from my earlier post which highlighted some of them, feast your eyes on these frozen goodies & other notable snacks (I'm feasting on them and weeping...Sob! Sob! sigh....LOL!)

Let's start with the appetizers ....

Exotic Veg Chips
Exotic Chips for sure - a mixed bag of Taro, Yuca (Cassava), Sweet Potato, Ruby Root Vegetables (kissed with beet juice), Batata (Cuban Sweet Potato) and Parsnip

Crunchy Lentil & Potato Snack
Yummy Lentil & Potato crunchy curls!

Rice & Bean Chips with Adzuki Beans
Slightly healthier - These Rice & Bean Chips with Adzuki Beans were definitely different from the norm but tasted pretty good.

Onwards, to the real frozen stuff now...still on the lighter stuff

Pastry Pups
Pastry Pups - uncured mini beef franks, wrapped in puff pastry and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Eaten fresh from the oven, these were heavenly!

Manitaropita
Now, this is a pita I could eat everyday (referring to my bored days with pita during my Egypt tour, hahaha...). Manitaropita - filled with seasoned mushrooms in white wine sauce. Ahhh...

Getting slightly heavier now....

Eggplant Parmesan
Reminded me why I started loving eggplants ... This Eggplant Parmesan was packed with filling. A gooey mess of sheer indulgence! A must try for vegetarians especially.

And now the mains...

Chic Meatballs - Teriyaki & Pineapple
Aidells' Teriyaki & Pineapple Chicken Meatballs were terrific. Looking at this pic is already enough to get me drooling!

Aidells' Chic & Apple Smoked Sausages
Ahhh...I enjoyed adding these Aidells' Chicken & Apple Smoked Sausages to my salad. Premium stuff here (the local sausages here in Malaysia labeled as "premium" is normal when compared to these)!

Steakhouse Classic Tri Tip - Beef Bottom Sirloin
These Sirloin cuts were tender and moist ... what a treat for meat lovers!

Marinated Wild Pacific Mahi Mahi
Not for me but for those looking for a different kind of meat ... this is one of Mrs Pitt's favourite - Wild Pacific Mahi Mahi (Sweet Mango with Roasted Peppers)

And now for the desserts!

Chocolate Dilemma Cheesecake
How brilliant! If one can't decide what to have, why not try the Chocolate Dilemma Cheesecake? Comes in four different variety of 2 slices each - Plain, Chocolate Chip, Tuxedo (Chocolate & White Chocolate) and Triple Chocolate.

Creme Brulee
Creme Brulee in chocolate dish

Creme Brulee
Here's a pic of the actual dessert

Raspberry Tarte
Raspberry Tarte ... Lovely pic on the box right? Most of the frozen food in Malaysia don't look like the image on the box but these goodies in USA ... they mostly do!

Raspberry Tarte
See? Doesn't the real thing look good? Can't believe this came out from a box! Great stuff!

Thank Goodness It's Friday! Have a great weekend everyone!

USA always have that effect on you, don't they? I used to go hunting for US stuffs after my first trip there too, and regretted that I didn't buy any from US when I came back.
It's great you can find so many of them, ohhhh, and the raspberry tarts, I do agree, it's so rare that we get exactly what we see on the box!! =)
How much did they all cost? ;)

Terra chips is the best! You might be able to find some of the frozen treats at Great Eastern Mall in Ampang. I saw some frozen dinner there.

J : They are very cheap when compared dollar for dollar but relatively still affordable should we pay in RM (but of course not when it's flown all the way here to Malaysia and sold at the local supermarkets!).

Christy : Yes, I'm missing them! Can remember but it's really cheap over there!

Precious P : Soon you will be going back to Aussie land and back to their frozen stuff :o) :o(

cfm : How about stuff in NZ?

babe_kl : Yup, so nice hor?

tigerfish : Yeah, another Trader Joe's fan!

ICook4Fun : Will keep that in mind when I'm in that area, thanks!

I wish you have enjoyed Trader Joe's Tiramisu and Barbequed Beef Short Ribs. Or maybe you have. They are really good. Their frozen ravioli and fried green beans with spicy dried shrimp are really good too. If you want to get imported frozen food in Malaysia, you can try Cold Storage or the store along Jalan Ampang, towards KLCC (can't remember the name). I got all my granola and cereals there when I went to KL for a 3 weeks visit last year, and the price ain't bad!

Anonymous : Oh, I have tried the Tiramisu but not the ribs...thanks for the info.
