There's a large grilling pit at one corner where all the cooking action is happening; staff basting the meat with the delicious gravy once in awhile.
We opted for plain rice with a bit of fried desiccated coconut, beansprouts, some leaves and gravy. Good enough to eat on its own!
Finally, the most delicious Ayam Percik I have ever eaten! The secret is in the gravy that makes it so good. Somehow, I have been unable to find the same tasty gravy served with Ayam Percik here in the Klang Valley. It's creamy with a hint of coconut and unknown wonderful spices (unknown to me, that is)...eating there, I was happy that we could ask for extra gravy. Now, this is what I call "Finger licking good!"For those who might want to try their hand at cooking Ayam Percik themselves, I found some recipes online; here, here and here (might not be as good as Yati's though). Try your hand at them and let me know if any of them are good. If yes, do invite me for a meal! Ha ha ha...
If you are ever in Kota Bahru, this is one of the places that you must eat at! Opening Hours: Saturday-Thursday (noon-11.30pm); Friday (3pm-11.30pm) Phone: 09-7479867.

Look at all those woks!! None of those chap-farn style trays for them-eh?
Mmmmm.. the ayam percik with gravy does look good. And the rice too... *drools* Kudos to the photographer!
Yati's ayam percik is out of this world! Never tasted anything like this before! I heard they have a branch in Klang Valley? They have branches in Kelantan & Terengganu...
Did I just lose my comment? PC just shut down without warning. *sigh* Oh well, I just lamented that d ayam percik pic just made my 'tapau-ed' (packed) bbq pork rice taste bland.
Most importantly, jo, where's the branch in KL?
Oh ayam percik! Is that what you were singing about when you were in the car from Seksan's to Bakerzin? Hee hee.
*runs and hides*
kat : If you look at the photo again, you'll also see trays at the upper part of the stall. The ayam percik is so yummy! Thanks for the compliment!
Jo : Klang Valley? Both Tummythoz and I would love to know where. I've Googled and can't find anything on Yati's Ayam Percik in KV.
tummythoz : Ah, wait till you get the chance to taste the ayam percik with its glorious gravy!
kenny : No, I don't recall singing about ayam percik, though it would have been good too...I think I was singing about desserts and about going where to eat them. I wanted our conversations to be like in the broadway musicals but the rest were not that keen! LOL
The ayam percik look superb! I only had kuey teow for lunch today laaa (gotta torture myself a bit after much indulgence in KL) :P

jason : Cannot sing also never mind, we are family! hahaha So, next time sing yah?
wonda : This would warrant as a good enough reason to visit KB itself! Good stuff here...
joe : The reason there're all these food over 1 short trip is because I had the privilege of having my KB friend to bring me around. I definitely couldn't go around and eat alone :o)
the sauce on the ayam percik looks really creamy..quite unlike what we have here. Lemme know if you find anything remotely close to it here.

Finally you can start blogging about your Melaka trip oledi. Haha.
The ayam percik place looks so yummylicious leh..and those kuih...ooohh..yumz.
kenny: Your fren, ahem Ms WMW just couldn't get the singing bug out of her system..and that triggered our laughing bud. So together the 4 of us looks like we have just been released from mental hospital. Hahaha!
All my old time favorites, ate those when I was younger, mwuah thanks for the KB posts very good memories for me.
LLemongrass : Still on the lookout...was informed somewhere in Wangsa Melawati? I'm not familiar with that place.

"Beneath the shaded place, there are some stalls
They served a lot of food, for one and all...
And though I turn away, my name they call
The fooood, they're calling out to me....I must have all!"

Hi, thanks for sharing all the wonderful places to eat in Kota Bharu. Came across your blog while searching for places to eat there. But I realized most of the places you recommended are either for breakfast or dinner or snacks. Where can we go for good lunch instead? :) Thanks.
Allison : I did blog about this for lunch...
